DOMENICK NAPOLI

I got to see Domenick Napoli perform in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset last September and loved everything I heard and saw - which is why the second I noticed he was starring in School of Rock at the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Merrick, I had to reach out. I had the best time connecting with him during this conversation! Not only is he massively talented, but he is kind and funny too!

Here’s a bit of what we chatted about:

🎭 School of Rock! Why playing the role of Dewey Finn is important to him and some of the challenges he faced during the rehearsal process

⭐️ His favorite moment in the show that he isn’t a part of!

🎲 A little β€œThis or That”

🎭 Some favorite/funny theater memories

🎸 He’s in a band called 39 Smooth with a single coming in May - and I’ve got a teaser!

Thank you again to Domenick for spending the time with me and thank you all for supporting The Kyle Petty Show and live theater here on Long Island! πŸ’œ

*Special feature*

EXPLORING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LONG ISLAND THEATERS AND THEIR PERFORMERS

Sometimes it feels there is a disconnect between Long Island Theater performers and the theaters they perform in and I think it’s important to chat about πŸ™ƒ

There was a situation with a Children’s Theater production and a Long Island based theater that was brought to me that I felt needed to be addressed - but I also see this as an opportunity to discuss the disparity between Children’s Theater performers vs. Mainstage performers as well as ALL Long Island Theater performers and their respective theaters. πŸ‘€

Let’s begin conversation that is conducive to a productive result! I hope this can be the beginning of that. πŸ’œ

Shea McMahon

Shea McMahon has apparently had beef with me for months and this only came to light when we shared the stage during A CHRISTMAS CAROL at CM Performing Arts Center - so I’m absolutely chuffed that she decided to spend some time with me on The Kyle Petty Show! Here’s a bit of what we chatted about:

🎭 Everything Cats at CM Performing Arts Center! From her attachment to the show, to the rehearsal process, all the way to her inspiration for the set design!

⭐️ Her experience performing for children and why it resonates with her

πŸ‘€ A bit about her experience thus far in Descendants at The Argyle Theater

❎ The disparity between how Children’s Theater performers are treated vs Mainstage performers

🎲 A little β€œThis or That”

🎭 Some favorite/funny theater memories

You’ll hear this in the conversation, but my cheeks hurt after this one! I had an absolute blast and I’m so glad Shea has forgiven me πŸ˜‚ thank you again for spending the time with me and thank you all for supporting The Kyle Petty Show and live theater here on Long Island! πŸ’œ

Patrick Campbell

This conversation was a loooooong time in the making! I’m so glad we were able to make this happen. Here’s some of what I got into with Patrick Campbell:

🎭 His experience directing the Long Island premiere of Jagged Little Pill at Smithtown Performing Arts Center

🧐 What his creative process looks like and what drew him to directing this show

πŸ›œ His amazing, beautiful website β PATRICKCAMPBELLDIRECTOR.COM and some of the intention behind it

🎲 A little β€œThis or That”

🎭 Some favorite/funny theater memories

I had an amazing time connecting 1:1 with this amazing human and I’m overjoyed that we finally found the time to chat. Thank you again to Patrick for spending the time and thank you all for supporting The Kyle Petty Show and live theater here on Long Island! πŸ’œ

Jae Hughes

It was a pleasure to catch up with one of my besties Jae Hughes! πŸŽ‰

There was no shortage of things to discuss!

Here’s a glimpse at what we chatted about:

🎭 The 39 Steps at Theatre Three

⭐️ Their involvement with Starkid and how they got involved

πŸ‘€ A super secret ANNOUNCEMENT!

🎭 Carriage House Players and their love for Shakespeare

🎲 A little β€œThis or That”

🎭 Some favorite/funny theater memories

This one was a blast and I’m so glad we got to do this. Thank you again Jae for spending the time and thank you all for supporting The Kyle Petty Show and live theater here on Long Island! πŸ’œ

Michael Verre

It was a pleasure and an honor to reunite and perform with Michael Verre during CM’s β€œSomewhere Beyond the Sea” cabaret last August/September and I’m super happy we got to continue the fun on The Kyle Petty Show! πŸ’œ

Here’s a bit of what we chatted about:

🎼 The original music he writes

🧐 Some insight behind his creative process

🎭 His new original musical

🎭 Some of his favorite/funniest theater memories

🎲 A little β€œThis or That” game

Needless to say, this one was a blast! Thank you again Michael for spending the time with me and thank you ALL for supporting The Kyle Petty Show and live theater here on Long Island! πŸ’œ

Matthew Surico

We THINK (lots of review would be needed) that he is the first person to appear twice on The Kyle Petty Show and that seems completely apropos (see what I did there? A little rhyming action for you!) for how much he has contributed to the ✨brand✨ over the years! With this conversation we discussed a few things!

🎭 Monty Python's Spamalot which opens this Saturday, February 14th at 7:30pm at CM Performing Arts Center!

🎭 The Jon Rivera Tribute Show on Sunday, February 15th at 6pm at CM Performing Arts Center!
